Are You An Elephant ?

It is said that elephants never forget……………. anything.

Elephants can be trained when they are babies, not to roam.
One leg of a baby elephant is tied with a rope to a wooden post that is firmly seated in the ground, or to a tree.

The rope makes sure the baby elephant is restricted to the space determined by the length of the rope.
At first the baby elephant tries to break away from the rope, but the rope is too strong.

The baby elephant “learns” that it can’t break the rope.
Then the elephant grows up and has become strong, without much effort the full-grown elephant can obviously break the same rope.
Because it “learned” at a young age that it couldn’t break the rope, the adult elephant believes that it still can’t break the rope, so it doesn’t even try!

That my friends is a true account of how to train an elephant, well one way.
Although I do not agree with it at all because I feel elephants should be free to roam wherever they want to, and be left alone by humans, but that’s a story for another day.

Is this striking a chord yet?

What did you learn at a young age?

Were you told by someone you looked up to, a teacher, a parent perhaps, that “you can’t do that”
Were you told to “get your head out of the clouds” and “focus on your school work” because that’s the only way you will get ahead in this world is by focusing and hard work?

Well if you were, let me ask you this.
Do you still believe it?
Because if you do that is complete bullshit, and you were lied to and only got half of a correct answer.

You DO have to work hard to get what you want in this world, I personally wouldn’t want it any other way. I want to be a published author and I will be, but I don’t want someone to just give it to me, where is the fun, not to mention the  self-respect in that?

Focus, yes you need to focus to get what you want, but please focus on what is important to you, and for God’s sake do not ever settle for less than what you want.

I am here to tell you that no matter what it is that you want to do and or be, its yours for the taking.

Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.

Are you an elephant ? Hell no you are not, roam and roam and roam until you find what you want.

It is said that elephants never forget……………. anything, neither do we.

  3. Hello Water Bearer,
Welcome to my blog I am glad you are here!!!
It often is only a few words of 1 or 2 people that can hold us back, on the other hand sometimes its the words of 1 or 2 people that propel us to great heights.
Thank you so much for stopping by πŸ™‚

    • Hi Jim, It’s is my pleasure to have stumbled across your blog! And how kind of you to return the favour! It is so true that words have such tremendous power and yet some refuse to consider or acknowledge this.. Here’s to encouraging others and not teaching our children to hold back with fear and doubt! Cheers! and Blessings to you!

  4. I love elephants, but my mother is an extreme case of an elephant. She remembers arguments that took place years ago, bears grudges for centuries and has lists of grievances for certain people.
